Introduction :
Nepal Center for Contemporary Studies (NCCS), a non-partisan and non-profit making organization, undertakes studies on subjects and issue of national and transnational nature and dimensions. The emerging political and socio-economic trends, and opportunities to be generated by new developments come within the scope of NCCS. The pluralistic nature of Nepali society and polity demands greater understanding and cooperation among political forces of democratic consolidation. Policy analyses, in-depth studies of national and regional issues and development, and their likely impacts on Nepal and other regions, especially South Asia, are some of the principal agendas of the Center.
As an institution for human resource development, NCCS provides support for young social scientists for enhancing their skill and professionalism. In addition to their involvement in training and workshops, NCCS's alumni are also used for carrying out studies of serious nature. Thus, the Center wishes to continue its relations with its alumni.
The Center has modestly equipped office (computers, printer, photo copy machine, and fax/email/internet facilities and staff). It has a small library with regular supply of national and international publications.
