To provide a forum for experts and practitioners of policies and programs for helping developmental activities;
To promote the generation and dissemination of information and policy options on important issues at all levels of society;
To study and investigate contemporary and emerging socio-political and economic trends in the country liking them with similar trend in other countries or region;
To work as a network for similar organizations of other countries for facilitating cooperative relations and understanding between them;
To facilitate contacts and cooperation among academics, member of representative institutions, individuals, public officials, media, and other concerned sections within and outside Nepal;
To train young social scientists for carrying out Center's programs and studies as and when opportunities demand; and
To provide expertise and professional advisory services to Government, NGOs and national and international communities.
